Easy pasta recipe, Instant pot spaghetti with meatballs in sauce. Frozen or fresh meatballs with delicious noodles- a quick dinner for your whole family!
Can you cook noodles in pressure cooker?
Absolutely yes! Its so easy and it turns out perfect each time. The main secret to perfect pasta is to make sure you cover it with liquid and once its pressure cooked, quick release and separate the noodles. Try my other instant pot pasta recipes:
- Instant pot chicken lo mein noodles
- Instant Pot Fettuccine Alfredo pasta
- Quick and easy Instant Pot beef stroganoff
The main difference between pasta recipes mentioned above and this Instant pot spaghetti and meatballs recipe, is that i used a frozen ingredient- meatballs and premade spaghetti sauce.
The easiest recipe on my blog! But if you prefer to use homemade meatballs, try meatballs recipes from this dishes- Air fryer meatballs or Skinny Fettuccine Alfredo with meatballs.
Cooking pasta in Instant pot
When i cook pasta in my Instant pot i try to use spaghetti type, or linguine. Before cooking you need to break them in half. If you are using other pasta noodles like penne or rotini, there is no need to worry.
Would you like to save this?
Just dump them in to your pressure cooker and cover with sauce. Once cooked, they will be perfect and not stuck together.

If I double the recipe do I double the time?
Wow! I’m so impressed with this recipe! Easy, cheap, quick and tastes great! what more can you ask for? Followed the recipe exactly except because the pasta wasn’t fully covered I added a little extra sauce.Came out Perfect, will make again for sure:)
I followed your recipe last night, using homemade meatballs and homemade pasta sauce. Do you have an idea why the "burn" symbol came up? It came to pressure, then when I saw the burn warning I did a quick release. Nothing was sticking to the pot. So I tried again, and after coming to pressure it happened again. BUT my pasta and meatballs were cooked! So we had a great meal. Your thoughts on what happened would be appreciated.
@Caroline Laanstra, I had that happen when the seal wasn’t all in correct.
It would help if you give the cooking settings, are we supposed to guess??
It says MANUAL. High pressure
@Tatiana Shifruk, yes it says manual but my insta pot doesn’t. So is pressure suppose to be the same as MANUAL?
@Jenni, I'm making it now and I have the same issue. Nowhere on my insta pot does it say manual. I just did 10 on the pressure cooker and fingers crossed it works.
I’m cooking for one so I’m wondering if I can at least half this recipe and if so, how would it change the cooking times? Any thoughts?
I made this with meatballs from Costco. Can i just say the flavor of my meatballs made this amazing!!
I used a little more water because it wasn’t covering the noodles. I won’t do that again.
This was EASY, quick and just what I need when I’m in a pinch!
I tried this recipe tonight with using Vodka sauce. It turned out great. Taking off the lid after cooking it the sauce was runny. I was worried. But then as it sat for about 10 minutes, the noodles soaked up some of the sauce and it was good. Maybe next time I would add a little over 2 cups of water instead of 3. Will make this again. Thank you for the recipe 🙂
Walmart has half length spaghetti in 1# boxes for ~90¢
@JR, haha that is exactly what I am using to make it right now. It is a tad more then 10 oz but either way it will be eaten.
I wonder what an instant pot can’t do. I now make some lentil meatballs before setting my IP to pressure cook for some yum sphagetti and meatballs vegan.
@Sophie, I wonder the sàme. I much rather do most of my cooking in the insta pot. Living in Vegas and cooking in the summer time is NOT fun.
Wow! I use my instant pot all the time, but I've never thought about making pasta in it. And even better that you can make the sauce and meatballs in there at the same time. What a time saver!
