Sweet dessert hummus with caramel dulce de leche cheesecake flavor, oh my!
I honestly think that sweet dessert hummus suppose to be a new trend now! It is healthy, nutritious, perfect for dipping all kind of fruit and berries.
My favorite are sliced apples! Crunchy sweet pieces of thinly sliced apple dipped in caramel cheesecake hummus, yum!
Well, dessert hummus it a little bit different from its classic version. You will not see any tahini or olive oil here that for sure. Variations are endless! But whats important, is that dessert hummus suppose to be, hm, sweet 🙂 You can sweeten it up with
Classic caramel or dulce de leche?
It absolutely will depend on your personal preference. But if you ask me, i will choose dulce de leche. Its so easy to make it at home- here you can find recipes for homemade dulce de leche in Slowcooker, Instant Pot or on the stove from my blogger friends.
When i was a kid i used to just stick a can of condensed milk in a pot of water and slowly boil it until done (was it a few hours? it felt forever!)
They also sell dulce de leche in cans in supermarkets( out local Walmart and Safemart has it). Great option too!
I don’t blame you if you like store bought caramel ( you know, sold in ice cream frozen isles)- just replace it using equal amount in the recipe. But, well, the taste will not be the same.

Caramel cheesecake dessert hummus
- 1 cup chickpeas washed and drained (if used canned)
- 3 oz cream cheese
- 1,5 tbspn dulce de leche
- 1 tspn maple syrup
- Add all the ingredients listed above in to your food processor or blender.
- Turn it on and let it blend for 20-30 seconds( depend on your blender but hummus should be smooth when done)
- Pour in to the bowl. Drizzle some caramel on top. Serve with sliced apples, grapes, crackers, strawberries, cheese etc
