How long to cook hot dogs in air fryer?
I will share with you the time and temperature that worked best for me. So first you will need to cook hot dogs in air fryer. Usually they are done in 5 minutes.
Dont forget to shake dogs once right in the basket- its especially important if you are cooking more then 5 links at once. Then, Place the dogs inside your prepared hot dog buns and place them back in the air fryer for another 2 minutes for really crispy buns or for 1 minute for just lightly browned.
Can you cook frozen hot dogs in air fryer?
My answer is absolutely! I like to buy hot dogs in bulk and freeze them. This way i always have a quick lunch for my kids on a busy day. The only difference in this method is that you cook dogs for 3 minutes longer, at the same 375 degrees.
Got frozen hot dogs buns?
Not a problem! After your hot dogs are completely done, take them out and add frozen buns to the air fryer basket. Now, cook them 2 minutes at 300 degrees.
Once cooked, they will be nice and crispy, but if you want them to be more browned, add another minute of cooking. Dont forget to check on them to make sure they are just as crispy as you want.

How to cook hotdogs in air fryer (fresh)
Air fryers come in different sizes. My Air fryer (Gourmia 5 Qt), that i bought in Costco, perfectly fits 3 hot dogs with buns.
They fit tight but perfect. For the buns i use regular buns from the general stores like Walmart or something similar.
For franks i like to use McCormick Montreal Steak Smoked Sausage. Its tasty and i like the quality. But of course, any of your favorite sausage will work just fine!
How to cook hot dogs in air fryer? First cook franks for about 5 minutes at 375 degrees.
And then place sausages in to buns and cook for another couple minutes at the same temperature. Yum!
My favorite hot dogs toppings
Toppings are a big part of any hot dog recipe. We love to have it with ketchup, mustard and onions, but when we feel fancy we add more goodness:
- sauerkraut
- sliced fresh or pickled jalapenos
- avocado, sliced or mashed ( or guacamole!)
- caramelized onions
- chunky or creamy salsa
Best quick lunch on the go and kid friendly air fryer recipes:
- Air fryer jalapeno poppers
- Air fryer salmon cakes
- Air fryer kabobs
- Air fryer frozen fries
- Air Fryer cod

I’m definitely going to give this a try - looks yummy! Do you preheat your air fryer or just put them in?
