I already made Instant Pot turkey legs and it was a hit in my house and on my site. So now i decided to learn how to cook turkey breast in instant pot.
How to cook a turkey in an instant pot
When you will cook your first instant pot turkey breast roast, i bet you you will have lots of questions. Most popular and important questions i tried to cover below:
How long can a turkey be frozen?
I have experience freezing the whole turkey and a turkey breast for more then a year. As long as package is properly sealed and no air gets close to turkey (called freezer burn), you should be fine.
What is the biggest turkey breast you can cook in pressure cooker.
I own a 8 qt size Instant Pot, i think its the largest one on the market. In my opinion, the biggest turkey breast to fit would be a 9 lb turkey breast. I know some people have a luck to find a whole bird that is that size to cook a whole turkey in instant pot.
How long to cook?
Here is the rule of thumb for any pressure cooker turkey breast recipe: for frozen turkey is 10 minutes per pound and fresh or thawed turkey breast 6 minutes per lb. This formula is easy to remember and works each time. Cook your instant pot frozen turkey breast on Manual setting for high pressure.
Would you like to save this?
Pressure cooker turkey breast can be a hit on your Thanksgiving table. I love this method of preparation- pressure cooking is easy, quick and leave you time to cook other meals at the same time, like Maple roasted brussels sprouts, Easy creamed corn recipe or even Crock pot brown sugar pineapple spiral ham.
For this easy instant pot Thanksgiving recipe i used a Honeysuckle turkey breast. This turkey part was about 8 pounds and i purchased it frozen. To defrost i placed it in the fridge for almost two days. The time also depend on your fridge temperature, it varies.
What to do with turkey leftovers
I like to slice turkey breast really thin and use it as a lunch meat for sandwiches. To do that place the whole turkey piece in to the fridge, and only after it is cold and firm, try to slice it, it should not fall apart. Another great option for leftovers is to make a delicious Leftover turkey noodle soup. It doesn’t take long to cook and the soup is so comforting, you will have couple bowls of it.
Oh, that broth you will get from turkey drippings, carrots, onions and celery will be fantastic soup base for later. Freeze it in small containers and add later in to your chicken soups.
I already mentioned my pressure cooker turkey legs with gravy recipe in the beginning of this post, but here is more turkey recipes for you:

Turned out great. Except I diced the veggies. Used dried rosemary, thyme, garlic and, because I couldn't find my sage, added poultry a little poultry seasoning. No salt andow sodium chicken stock because hubby can't have. Didnt miss it. Placed breast down in stock without the cravat. It tasted amazing! So moist. Even the leftovers! I did a 16 min release only because I forgot

In the article you say 10 min natural release. The recipe says Quick release? Please clarify. Also I have a 6 qt IP. Would a 6.5 to 7 lb turkey breast fit? Thank you
