Bourbon eggnog cocktail

Eggnog is traditionally a winter drink. First time i tried it when moved to US , about 9 years ago. I was skeptical but curious. I loved the flavor so much! It was thick and creamy and sweet and just amazing. Used to order eggnog lattes in Starbucks and could not get enough. Years later i tried to make my own eggnog. And now i want to share a recipe for Bourbon eggnog cocktail with you guys.

Can you warm up eggnog? If you want your drink warm, i recommend to just warm eggnog in the microwave for about 30 seconds and only then add alcohol. This way your cocktail will warm you up much faster!

What alcohol goes best in the eggnog cocktail

  1.  Bourbon. Of course bourbon is my favorite type of alcohol to pair with eggnog, its smoky and strong, just like i like for a after dinner treat
  2. Brandy
  3. Spiced rum. May be a bit strong but if you love rum, this is your drink.
  4. Whiskey. I have all kids of whiskey in my kitchen cabinet and going to experiment with flavors this season.

Enjoy your Bourbon eggnog cocktail after a delicious Smoked turkey dinner!
