I hope you already tried to make at least one recipe using fish fillets in your air fryer. Its probably the best way to cook it!

If not, dont worry. I will teach you how to make the best and most delicious fish and how to use your air fryer properly and to get the best out of it. If you have being following my blog for a while, you probably already tried to make my super popular air fryer salmon fillets recipe. Today’s cod recipe is very similar to that and my little lemon trick is still in action!

Here is why this recipe works

Lets start with picking our fish. This time i bought a bag with frozen cod fillets, wild caught in Alaska (also called Pacific cod). This is probably the easiest way to get wild white fish to your table. Fish is almost fat free and very rich on protein. Make this recipe for dinner and add some grilled or sauteed vegetables for a balanced meal.

I prefer to keep my white fish simple and sauce free. This way i keep the calorie and fat count low. All you will need for the recipe is 1 lemon, salt, freshly ground pepper, some garlic salt or fresh garlic and dried or fresh parsley.

I used almost the whole lemon for one 3 oz fillet. Start with slicing lemon and laying the air fryer basket with it, exactly where you are planning to place the fish. Wash fillets and pat dry with paper towels. So now is the fun part, you are free to use any spices you like! As i mentioned above i like to keep it simple with just some salt, pepper, garlic and parsley.

Cover cod with your spices and place fillets on the lemon slices. Cover with more lemon and air fry! Its that easy.

Meanwhile you can always make some salsa or salad that will go so well with fried white fish. Chop tomato, avocado, cilantro, onions, jalapeno, green onions and cucumber. Mix with a splash of olive oil, lime juice and pinch of salt. So good but totally optional.

Can i use another fish

You can cook any white fish using this recipe. Try to make swai, pollock, whiting or flounder. The cooking time depends on how thick fillet pieces are so change it accordingly. Dont overcook though because it becomes dry pretty fast if baked more just by couple minutes.

How to cook from frozen

Typically it only takes 5 minutes to defrost frozen cod fillets in the water. They are thin enough to get defrosted fast. But if you are really short in time, please just add about 2 minutes to a total cooking time.

I'm still getting used to my air fryer. I followed your instructions/recipe and used halibut last night. Took a couple extra minutes because the filets were rather thick but so easy and tasty. Thanks!
