Super easy tuna salad recipe for your lunch sandwich, with eggs, celery and onions. Canned tuna works best here and this is the best recipe for a quick meal for everyone.
When i used to work in a coffee shop in my twenties, we were making fresh tuna salad daily. Oh i could eat that salad all day long!
The recipe used for my blog is easy, coffee shop popular dish with a bit extra. I added extra eggs to make you feel full longer .Thats it.
So, whats the essential ingredients for the tuna salad?
Tuna is your number one ingredient if you want to make a tuna salad. I use canned tuna i buy in bulk in COSTCO. I always have it on hand for easy dinner or lunch option.
Mayo is pretty essential, but if you prefer your salad on a healthy side, substitute half of the amount to yogurt.
Onions are great for a crunch, so as celery. Chop it very fine and mix in. I like it on a spicy side so usually i added more onions or some kind of hot sauce on top of my tuna salad sandwich. Cant mix it up in a big bowl becouse of the kids, they will not like that spicy kick.
Would you like to save this?
Eggs. Its a delicious add on to make you feel full longer, but if you don’t like eggs, just skip this step.
How to drain and flake canned tuna
When you open the can, open it all the way. Keep the lid tight on the tuna and flip the can over the sink. Drain juices and flip back to normal. Using a fork transfer the fish to the medium size bowl and flake it there. Easy peasy!
This recipe will work great with canned salmon as well. Additionally i would add fresh dill and maybe chopped pickles. That my Russian roots talking in me, dill and pickles are our favorite.

Mayonnaise or salad dressing—what’s the difference? They are both thick, creamy dressings that contain vegetable oil, lemon juice or vinegar and seasonings. Mayonnaise also contains egg yolk and is less sweet than salad dressing. They can be used interchangeably so you decide which you prefer.
